Welcome

My name is Brian Havens, and welcome to my website. This is a site for woodworkers by a fellow woodworker. Having worked wood for several years, I now hope to share my experience and knowledge with other woodworkers. My goal is to provide information and resources to fellow woodworkers, primarily through instructive and educational videos. If you have any questions or suggestions, you can drop me a note at brian@brianhavens.com

Sincerely,
Brian Havens

Take a Tour of my Shop

Follow Me on Twitter

I keep my iPhone with me in the shop while I am working, so that I can snap pictures while I work. Sometimes I snap the pictures for my own purposes, that is, for documenting what I am working on. Other times it occurs to me that some technique I am currently using or some idea that I am implementing may be useful to others; so, I snap a picture and tweet it out with a short explanation.

You can also catch my "Daily Shop-Shot": photography in the workshop, which gets automatically tweeted out every day. Most of the time, the pictures are meant to capture the romance of woodworking. Sometimes, they are more educational in nature. They are always (I hope) fun to look at.

Support

All of the information on my website is without charge. That being said, there is a definite cost to running a web site and making videos. You can help support my site in one of two ways: 1) The next time you need to purchase woodworking supplies from one of my affiliates, you can click though one of the ads on my site. There is no extra cost to you for your purchase when you do this. 2) You can make a direct donation, a buck or two, when you find useful and/or enjoyable content on my site. Just click on one of the espresso icons and make your donation through Paypal.

Making Cove Moulding

In this episode of the Straightedge, learn how to make large cove moulding on the table saw. No fancy machinery or fancy jigs are required. The technique I use in this video is slightly different that traditional methods, and, I find, can be used to make a wide variety of profiles.
