Natural Edge, Flat-Bottom Cherry Bowl

85.00

The wood for this bowl came from a friend's Cherry Tree that had to be removed due to termites.  The unaffected parts of the tree were harvested for woodturning. This particular piece comes from the crotch of the tree, where one branch diverges into two, forming a 'Y'.  The flat bottom of this bowl captures the highly figured area between the diverging branches, known as feather figure.

This bowl is finished with lacquer, so I do not recommend using it for direct food contact.
